About the event
CTBUH India organized a seminar focusing on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and its role in creating a sustainable urban habitat, particularly for Mumbai and its adjoining cities. With rapid infrastructure upgrades underway— including MRT schemes, Coastal Road, Trans Harbour Link, and waterways—2024 marks a pivotal year of transformation for the city.
In his welcome address, CTBUH India President Mr. Girish Dravid emphasized the urgency of sustainable planning and announced that this year’s CTBUH WALK would explore Mumbai’s new and upcoming transportation hubs. The keynote speaker, Mr. Jitesh Bramhkshtriya, discussed the evolution of Mumbai’s transit system, the importance of resiliency, and cautioned against unchecked FSI-led development.
A panel discussion curated by Ar. Pushyamitra Londhe and Mr. Sunil Godbole brought together experts from transportation engineering, architecture, master planning, and regulatory fields, offering insights into building a sustainable Mumbai over the next 15–20 years.
